Unconditional Basic Income, by definition, is unconditional, hence claims of it being a tool for control are nonsense, when its essence is to provide freedom from domination by those who enjoy a position of power through others‘ lack of access to what they need to exist.

What Scott Santens states here, does apply to any statement that asserts, UBI could be abused or redefined, so it would not be unconditional. That might happen, but it would be no UBI anymore.
