Two perspectives on „state dependency“…

…one is linked to means-tested allowances i.e. surveillance following paid work as ultimate goal, the other one as far as UBI is concerned gets rid of means-tests. Both of them cannot get rid of the state in general, because the state, i.e. the political community of citizens, provides its people with UBI, a kind of dependency you cannot overcome.

Es handelt sich um einen Ausschnitt aus einem Gespräch mit Paul Krugman, siehe das gesamte Video hier. Der erwähnte Anthony Atkinson, dessen Buch Anlass für die Diskussion war, hat sich wiederholt mit einer Art Grundeinkommen beschäftigt, bevorzugte aber ein „participation income“ gegenüber einem Bedingunglosen Grundeinkommen. In diesem Gesprächsausschnitt geht es nur um einen „child benefit“ als Form eines „universal benefits“, von einem allgemeinen BGE ist keine Rede, insofern ist der Tweet missverständlich.
